Students are supervised by two Residential Recreation Supervisors, one male and one female, who live at the camp with the students. The Res/Rec Supervisors are university students who are responsible for the students while they are at the residence. They are also responsible for organizing recreational activities and trips, inspecting living quarters, enforcing the campus rules, and ensuring that each and every student has the best possible stay at the DRSA.
Meet your Res/Recs of 2012:
Andrew Mackereth
Hey! I’m Andrew and I’m from Barrie, ON.I am currently attending Nipissing University and am heading into my fourth year in their concurrent program. (BAHons Psych/BEd P/J). I’ve been working in the residence at my university for the past 2 years organizing events and supervising students in their day-to-day lives, so helping students transition to living away from home for the first time is something I’ve been doing for a while. I love playing sports and being active and encouraging others to do the same.
Kira Kirk
Hi! I’m Kira and I was born in Toronto but moved to Okotoks, AB in ’95. I was an all round sports enthusiast in high school and played volleyball, basketball, badminton, soccer, x-country, track and field, and curling. I went to summer camp every summer from grade 6-gr. 11 and loved it and plan to make your summer at the DRSA as memorable as all my years at camp! I attended Neuchatel Junior College for a year which gave me the opportunity to study abroad in Neuchatel, Switzerland! I currently go to the University of Victoria and am heading into my 3rd year for my bachelor of science in chemistry. I also spent the past year at AFCC in Burnaby working on the cathode catalyst team. Finally, I love food, but not bugs!
