The DRSA is a huge fan of “Dance Your PhD”. We have been following the competition since when we first heard of it back in the fall of 2008.
Dance Your PhD is another example of how to teach using different learning models and methods. Experiential learning and blended learning are the two methods used by the DRSA. The founder, John Bohannon recently gave a TED talk on his method – dance.
Get a coffee, sit down, and take 11 minutes to watch. It is well worth the time.

There is a great lecture this evening sponsored by WiN and the CNS. Shelley Rolland-Poruks will be speaking in the Bennett Room at J.L. Gray in Deep River at 5:30 p.m. on “Engaging and Working With Our Community.”
Shelley Rolland-Poruks is the Community Affairs Officer with Atomic Energy of Canada, Ltd., and the recipient of the 2011 Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year Award.
Shelley will provide an overview of AECL’s community relations since joining the company in 2008. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the well-known programs and the lesser known programs that are in place at AECL.
The Deep River and District Community Foundation is hosting an open house on Saturday, May 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bear’s Den.
All are welcome! If you are in town, drop by. The DRDCF is celebrating 10 years!
